it starts with the party on a bus in road to Laverre
on a stormy night. each character was traveling on their own and didn't know one another (Yannick was coming back from a research fieldtrip in the Lost Hotel ).
a gang hijacks the bus cause they needed a vehicle. some rich guy (Jaime) wanted to hire them to find his missing girlfriend (Julia). but the daughter of the gang's leader (Epiphone) who's his friend (and has a not-so-secret crush on him), convinced her dad to basically force us to take the job (???) cause she doesn't trust them to do things right.
after talking with the Laverre Gym Leader, the search takes us to Lumiose. where we find out Julia was part of a kinda Illuminati-inspired mega secret society, called the Keepers. but their actual mission is to just keep a record of all knowledge and culture created by humans, and the're not supposed to take advantage of that information, but y'know, corruption.
along the adventure we find out Julia came upon some sort of prophecy about the end of the world or smth (it's still not entirely clear) and tried to convince her superiors to take action. that worsened the divide between two factions inside the Keepers: those who want to show themselves to the world/intervene, and those who want to stay secret/just archive information. Julia was put in a dungeon until it could be decided what to do with her.
after a couple days of running around the city and getting the shit beat out of us by some Keeper bosses and lackeys sent by Jaime's father (cause he doesn't like his son nor Julia); we finally sneak our way into the Synod aka their HQ.
here we also found out that the father of someone in the party was a Keeper and she had no idea

we finally find Julia who went kinda insane from her visions of the prophecy + being locked alone in a dungeon for probably multiple weeks.
when we get there and she sees Jaime she breaks down and everything goes to shit (ah yeah, there are Unowns, i think they're the ones that showed her the prophecy?). she disappears in a flash and a bunch of portals to the Ultra Space open over the city, from which Nihilegos come out, and start destroying everything. also Yan saw her Star and freaked tf out

we fight with some of the beasts and take Jaime to the Prism Tower where Julia is now, there he comes to terms with the fact that the only way to stop this is to kill her because she's being used to keep the portals open.
he does so and arc1 ends here. very bittersweet.
