a story i've been tinkering with since highschool, recently revised.

it's about identity and agency, or lack thereof, institutional abuse, the muddy and asphyxiating limits of love, what revenge cannot grant you back, and whether you can live with the enormity of your own choices.

how far can you run from what you were told you've been born to do? the constant struggle to understand or literally rewrite the very laws of reality itself.

it's also about two girls who've shared everything since birth stepping out into the real world for the first time as teens, alongside everything that entails. one or both of them might have special powers that some shady organization needs.

The World

setting is kiiinda futuristic but not by much. most of the world looks the same, just wackier technology. environment has Simon Stålenhag vibes, the earth is a bit fucked up. worldbuilding has changed during the revamp and is a wip.

the 4th(+) dimension in this story works as a separate higher spatial dimension. meaning it's a whole universe much like our own, but the laws of physics work completely different due to the added axis of geometry. despite having been proven to actually exist, it's unreachable through normal means. i can be forced to overlap momentarily with our own 3D dimension, by using massive amounts of energy, to varying degrees of catastrophic results. this hasn't stopped humanity from trying anyways, which has left the world scarred. huge holes in the land, living creatures turned inside out, plant matter repeating fractals into apparent microscopic infinity, floating structures, that type of thing. there's some reason they're desperate to achieve it that i haven't figured out yet.

fractals, glitches and flowers are big visual motifs.
